Dogs of the Working Dog Class were bred to perform jobs such as guarding property, pulling sleds and performing water rescues. Quick to learn, these intelligent, capable dogs make solid companions. Their considerable dimensions and strength, however, make many working dogs unsuitable as pets for average families. The working dog group contains mostly very large dogs who were bred for their size and stamina.
